Privacy Policy

The short version

Billable has no accounts and no invoice database. Everything you type into the invoice generator — names, addresses, rates, line items, logos — stays in your browser's localStorage on your device. It is never transmitted to us or anyone else; the invoice tool has no backend to transmit it to. The one server-side thing we operate is the license service for the optional Pro purchase, described below — it never sees your invoice data.

What we do collect

The site uses Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregate page-view statistics (which pages are visited, roughly where from, what kind of device). This doesn't include anything you type into the tool and isn't used to identify you.

If you buy Billable Pro

Pro is a paid upgrade processed by Stripe (a 6-month plan or a one-time lifetime purchase). When you buy it, we store exactly two things server-side: the generated license key (like BLL-XXXXX-XXXXX) and the Stripe checkout session id it was issued for, so the key can be verified when you activate a device and recovered if you revisit your claim link. Payment details (card number, billing address) go to Stripe, not to us — Stripe's own privacy policy covers their processing. Your activation is remembered in your browser's localStorage. No invoice contents are ever attached to your license.

What we don't collect

• Invoice contents, client details, rates, or totals
• Uploaded logos (they're stored as data in your browser only)
• Email addresses — there's no signup or newsletter
• Cookies for tracking or advertising

Your data, your machine

Because your invoices live in localStorage, they're subject to your browser: clearing site data deletes them, and they don't sync between devices. Use the Export JSON button for backups you control.

Third parties

The site is hosted on Vercel, which serves the static files and processes standard server logs (IP addresses, requested URLs) as any web host does. We don't sell or share data with anyone — we don't have data worth selling.
